Greater Zion is fast becoming known as one of the best mountain biking destinations in America. With over 300 miles of trails, you’re bound to find your terrain.
Greater Zion’s crowning glory is 300+ days of clear skies and year-round trail accessibility. With terrain ranging from red rock cliffs to slick rock adventures, this area is meant to be explored on a bike.
Even the pros take notice. The legendary Red Bull Rampage, the pinnacle of freeride mountain biking, takes place each year on the rugged cliffs of Virgin, Utah, showcasing just how epic the terrain truly is. But you don’t need to go extreme to enjoy a day on the trail.
From the beginner to hardened veteran, there are hundreds of trails for riders who crave variety and technical rides. From the classic flow of Bear Claw Poppy to the rim-hugging thrills of Wire Mesa and the technical challenges of Zen Trail, every ride delivers postcard views and pure desert stoke.
Trails to Try

Cliffrose Trail System
The Cliffrose Trail System near St. George offers miles of singletrack across juniper-dotted ridges and slickrock descents. Its mix of flowy climbs, technical rock features, and downhill-only lines like Rooster and PJ Party makes it a must-ride for all skill levels. Sitting higher in elevation, it’s a cooler escape that extends the riding season well beyond the valley floor. This system is still developing, so visit often to take advantage of updates.
Barrel Roll
Barrel Roll is a quality trail close to the small town of Santa Clara. With excellent views of
the mouth of Snow Canyon State Park and the giant Pine Valley Mountains, this trail
is beautiful. Take the loop in a clockwise direction to maximize the fun.

Goosebumps
The Goosebumps Trail runs along the base of Gooseberry Mesa and is a roller coaster come
to life as a mountain bike trail. Sections of the trail that offer steeper descents and more
technical terrain also have side options for those riders who want an easier path.
Guacamole
Guacamole starts on slickrock then transitions to singletrack, giving you a good
taste of both types of terrain. There are technical sections to the trail, and some areas,
especially on the slickrock, will be difficult to discern, so make sure to follow the rock cairns
and study a map before riding this trail. The views of Zion National Park are spectacular
from Guacamole.

North Rim of Gooseberry Mesa
The North Rim Trail is a technical section of the Gooseberry Mesa trail system. Ride along the north edge of a mesa with incredible views, then at an elevation of 5,200 feet, be prepared for a challenge on this rising and falling slickrock trail.
Revenant Trail System
This trail system delivers a rare blend of high-elevation, backcountry terrain, and a purpose-built bike park design that prioritizes gravity and flow over rock and tech. With a central, spectator-friendly trailhead connecting a network of one-way, bike-only routes, riders of all skill levels can start together before branching out to flowy green, black, and double-black descents. Revenant is open year-round for those chasing speed, community, and elevation.

Snake Hollow Bike Park
Snake Hollow Bike Park is Utah’s first year-round bike skills park. It’s built for riders who crave variety and progression. From beginner pump tracks to expert jump lines and freeride features, it’s a playground where every level of rider can build skills, test limits, and flow from dawn to dusk against a stunning Snow Canyon State Park backdrop.
